Make & Mingle
From crafting ornaments to sharing stories over dessert, the room was filled with laughter, inspiration, and the kind of conversations that remind us why community matters.
A Night of Connection, Creativity, and Holiday Cheer
When Jamie from Bougie Rougie reached out to chat about hosting a holiday event together, we knew right away it was going to be something special. Her boutique is vibrant, full of personality, and bursting with colour and sparkle—basically the perfect setting for a holiday gathering. We were thrilled to team up and bring Make & Mingle to life.
Held on November 24, this event was all about slowing down during the busy season to connect, create, and celebrate in community. It wasn’t just another networking event. It was a cozy evening filled with hands-on ornament-making, meaningful conversation, laughter, and of course—decadent desserts from The Art of Cake and Bliss Baked Goods to sweeten the experience.
Whether guests came solo or with a friend, everyone left with something memorable:
✨ Handmade holiday ornaments
✨ New connections and genuine conversations
✨ A warm reminder of how supportive this community truly is
We loved seeing a mix of longtime members and new faces alike, all creating and sharing in a relaxed, playful space. It reminded us that networking doesn’t have to feel formal; it can look like laughing over glitter, swapping stories over cupcakes, and walking away with both new contacts and a creative spark.
A heartfelt thank you to Jamie for opening her doors and sharing her creative energy with us. If you haven’t visited her boutique yet, put it at the top of your list. It’s packed with sparkle, unique finds, and thoughtful details. And definitely keep an eye out for her workshops. You won’t regret signing up for one!
To everyone who joined us: thank you for making Make & Mingle such a joyful evening. We can't wait to do it again!

Insider Insights with Canada's Virtual Assistant
Here’s the thing — delegation isn’t about “less work.” It’s about better work. It’s about creating space for the parts of your business (and life) that actually matter.
Hey there 👋 I’m Megan, the Owner of Canada’s Virtual Assistant — where we help busy executives, consultants, and founders get out of their inbox and back into their zone of genius.
After nearly 20 years in admin and a decade supporting C-suite leaders, I’ve learned one big truth: most people aren’t drowning because they’re bad at what they do… they’re drowning because they’re doing too much of it themselves.
Quick story — I bought my first dog when I was 10 years old with my birthday money. I was so proud… until I realized feeding, walking, and cleaning up after a dog is a full-time gig. 🙃 That’s the same thing that happens in business. You start out excited. Then one day, you look around and realize you’re walking 12 metaphorical dogs.
5 Simple Ways to Start Delegating Like a Leader
Here are 5 simple but powerful ways to get ready to delegate like a leader — without adding chaos to your calendar:
1. Document the Repetitive Stuff.
Start with the tasks you do weekly or daily. These are your “easy wins” for delegation.
2. Decide What Only You Can Do.
Your time is a premium resource. Everything else should be systemized or delegated.
3. Pick One Communication Hub.
Fragmented tools = fragmented focus. A single source of truth saves hours every week.
4. Set Success Metrics.
If your team doesn’t know what “done well” looks like, you’ll always be stuck managing instead of leading.
5. Start Small, Then Scale.
Delegation doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Offload one task, then build momentum.
Your Challenge:
Pick one task you do repeatedly — something you could hand off with a clear set of instructions — and create a simple SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for it today.
🎯 Try it out this week and see how it feels to free up even 30 minutes of your time. DM me on Instagram @canadas.virtual.assistant or connect on LinkedIn to tell me what you delegated!
